CONTEMPLATION also proposed a creative encounter between classical music and meditation at the heart of the historical Theatre Antique of Arles.
Art de la fugue et Art de la méditation is an artistic dialogue between Matthieu Ricard and Maria João Pires: the pianist performed pieces of Johann Sebastian Bach and Franz Schubert, interspersed with thoughts of the Buddhist thinker and monk. This natural conversation has been the place for an intense and intimate experience: an invitation to altruism and kindness, some essential values of our time.
These performances have been produced in partnership with the International Piano Festival of La Roque d’Anthéron.
All proceeds from Matthieu Ricard’s participation to CONTEMPLATION will be donated to Karuna-Shechen : www.Karuna-Shechen.org
